Westwood Brownie Troop Cleans Up Lyman Pond Path

A group of Westwood second graders from Sheehan Elementary took part in the town's annual Earth Week Cleanup on Saturday, April 28.

Girls from Brownie Troop 74274, along with their mothers, cleaned the , which runs from behind to the .  

In just more than an hour, the 13 girls filled to capacity two oversized trash bags with litter, and also gathered bottles and cans that will be donated to .  

"We spent a lot of time cleaning up trash," said Amelia, a member of the Brownie Troop. "I hope the people who drop trash stop now!"  

Angela, another Brownie, noted that "cleaning the path was good for people and for animals, because the animals could get hurt from all the broken glass we found."  

Likewise, troop member Samantha said that she would remember the clean up when she was in middle school, and "that she would tell people she saw littering along the path to stop because someone else had to clean up after them."
