Girls Ice Hockey Takes Dover-Sherborn, 12-2

Westwood advanced to 3-0 for the season with Monday's win.

It was another strong win for Westwood's girls varsity ice hockey team on Monday, as the Wolverines defeated Dover-Sherborn 12-2 at the Boch Ice Arena in Dedham.

Freshman Kat Heidleberger and Sophomore Kelly Healey each recorded three-goal hat tricks to lead the Wolverines to the victory. 

Defenseman Kristina Barounis opened the scoring for Westwood on a nice setup by Catherine Barrett. Healey then put in the next three to record her hat trick.

Heidleberger closed out the first period with her first goal putting Westwood up 5-0.  

Dover-Sherborn got one back early in the second period as Liz Keohane stuffed in a rebound, but goals by Ela Hazar, Heidleberger, Gabbie Guigliano, Catherine Barrett, and Barounis second of the night put Westwood up 10-1 after two periods.

Third-period goals by Heidleberger, her third of the night, and Olivia Fay brought the final to 12-2 with D-S getting a late goal from Patty Williamson.
 
Senior goaltender Courtney Fay played the first two periods and got the win, while Soph. Siobhan Burke finished playing the third period.

Westwood improved to 3-0 on the season with the victory, scoring 27 goals in its first three games.
