Westwood DPW Updates: Jan. 16-22
The DPW looks to raise manholes on Clapboardtree Street. Please watch for police detail between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
To get the week started, check out today's updates from local officials about what will be happening on the roads of Westwood through Sunday.
The Westwood Department of Public Works - which maintains the town's streets, drainage systems, sewer collection systems, fields, grounds, cemetery, water quality, trash collection and disposal, recycling collection, public facilities and provides snow removal - is busy every day working to keep the roads safe for residents.
In addition to DPW normal activities, you may see the following work this week in Westwood:

- Christmas Tree pickup will be completed this week.
- Westwood shares a stump grinder with a group of our neighboring towns and the Westwood DPW has the grinder this week. Crews will be revisiting tree removal locations to deal with the remaining stumps.
- Weather permitting, the DPW will be raising manholes on Clapboardtree Street. Please watch for Police Details between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Westwood DPW has also issued the following reminders for residents during the winter months:
- There is no parking allowed on any street between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. of any day during the period of Dec. 1, 2011 though March 31, 2012.
- Remove all portable basketball and sports apparatuses off streets.
- Put markers along property lines to assist the DPW in preventing lawn damage during the winter months.
- If using a private contractor for removing snow on property during the winter, please ensure that they do not deposit the snow in the public way.
- Remember to check the Town of Westwood website for any snow updates throughout the winter.
