Westwood Announces Election Dates, Available Seats

Town Hall has released a number of important dates and available seats in this year's election.

Westwood officials have announced a number of important upcoming dates regarding the 2012 Town Election in April and the Annual Town Meeting in May.

Nomination papers were made available as of Jan. 3 last week, and interested candidates have until early March to pull them.

Below are dates to keep in mind as the annual election nears:

  • Friday, March 2 - Last day to obtain nomination papers for Annual Town Election
  • Tuesday, March 6 - Last day to submit nomination papers to Registrar of Voters for Certification
  • Tuesday, March 20 - Last day to file nomination papers with Town Clerk
  • Thursday, March 22 - Last day to object or withdraw nomination papers
  • Wednesday, April 4 - Last day to register voters for town election and town meeting
  • Tuesday, April 17 - last date to post warrant for Annual Town Election and Town Meeting
  • Tuesday, April 24 - Annual Town Election, polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
  • Monday, May 7 - Annual Town Meeting
