Westwood Police Log: Multiple Unlocked Vehicles Broken Into

Items have been stolen from several unlocked cars in Westwood recently.

August 10, 8:30 a.m. – A vehicle parked in the driveway of a Farm Lane home was recently broken into, according to Westwood Police reports.

While there were two vehicles in the driveway at the time, only one, a Jeep, was rummaged through. A GPS device was taken from the vehicle, and there were no indications of forced entry, leading police to believe the Jeep was unlocked.

August 12, 6:20 a.m. – Two vehicles parked in the driveway of a Lorraine Road home were broken into in the overnight hours of August 12, reports indicate.

Police said a 2003 Acura and a 2005 GMC van were accessed, and from the vehicles a GPS device was taken, as well as some loose change and several purses. Both cars appeared to have been unlocked, police said.

No damage had been done to the vehicles, and there were no signs of forced entry.

August 12, 11:34 a.m. – A 2008 Subaru and a 2008 GMC vehicle were broken into from the area of Stevens Circle, according to police reports.

A radar detector, an iPod, and $80 in cash had been taken from the vehicles, which also appeared to have been unlocked, police said. No damage had been done to the cars.

August 12, 12:10 p.m. – Another GPS unit was also taken from a 2002 Ford Explorer in the area of Stonemeadow Drive, police said.

That car was also reported to have been unlocked, as no damage or forced entry were apparent.
