Westwood Police Log: Drivers Cited on High Street, Providence Highway

Driver Cited for Unregistered Vehicle on High Street

June 30, 12:55 p.m. - cited the driver of a 2010 Kia for driving with a revoked registration and following a vehicle too closely on High Street.

The driver was cited after the Kia rear ended a 2006 Toyota near the Rte. 128 on-ramp. The driver of the Toyota was transported to complaining of pain.

Summons Issued for Following Too Close, Speeding, Other Charges

July 1, 10:03 p.m. - The driver of a 1996 Accura received a criminal summons for operating a vehicle under a suspended driver's license, for following to closely, for failure to stop for police, and speeding while driving along Providence Highway.

While conducting stationary radar on Providence Highway, Westwood Police saw the Accura drive past and observed the vehicle to be traveling at a close distance between another sedan.

Police radar determined the vehicle was traveling at about 67 miles per hour in a 50 m.p.h. zone.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
