Westwood Police Log: Damaged Corvette, Social Security Compromised

The windshield of a resident's car was found cracked, and a younger resident's social security number was allegedly compromised.

May 18, 5:37 p.m. - A resident of Mill Brook Road entered the to report that the windshield of his Corvette had been damaged, specifically that that the windshield had been cracked.

Police investigated the matter and determined that the impact point was located near the top of the windshield, with a large crack leading away from the source of impact. 

It was not immediately clear what caused the damage, police said, though it is believed to have been caused by a rock or similar object.

May 19, 4:05 p.m. - A 20-year-old resident of Burke Street entered the Westwood Police Department, claiming that her social security number had been compromised, according to reports. 

The resident was advised to contact the credit bureaus, explaining to them her suspicions and making direct contact with some financial institutions that were making an inquiry into the matter.

May 23, 7:19 p.m. - A resident of Laura Lane entered the police department to report a lost cell phone. 

According to reports, the phone was a Blackberry model cell phone, with a value at about $500. The resident believed it may have been possible that she may have placed the phone on her vehicle before driving away, police said.
