Westwood Police Log: Alleged Pot Smoking at Deerfield School, Man Arrested at Westwood Lodge

August 15, 4:12 p.m. – While on patrol near the area of the Deerfield School, Westwood Police encountered two males in their 20s allegedly smoking marijuana.

The males, a 20-year-old from Westwood and a 22-year-old from Norwood, admitted to the officers that they had been smoking, but police were not able to find any evidence of marijuana on them. Instead, they only found a pipe.

No charges were pressed against the males, and they were told to stay off the property.

August 16, 10:26 a.m. – Westwood Police arrested a man from Uxbridge after he was released from Westwood Lodge Hospital.

The area resident was arrested on a warrant for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), as well as being a fugitive from justice. The latter charge involved child endangerment out of South Carolina, Westwood Police said.

Police in Westwood were notified by the Uxbridge Police Department that the man was being released from Westwood Lodge on August 16, and Westwood Police subsequently arrived at the hospital to pick him up, according to reports.
