Police Log: Unattended Car at K&G, Car Entered on University Ave.

Van Left Unattended at K&G Fashion Superstore

Dec. 12, 10:53 a.m. - Westwood Police, while on patrol near the K&G Fashion Superstore on Providence Highway, approached a handicap van containing four mental health patients that was left unattended.  

Upon investigation and speaking with a manager of the company responsible for transporting the patients, police determined that it was okay for them to be left unattended. The driver of the van had stopped at the store to make a brief purchase, police said.

No charges were filed. 

Car Window Smashed at Container Company

Dec. 13, 9 a.m. - An employee of on University Avenue reported to police that the driver side window of her 2011 Dodge Durango had been smashed in and a GPS unit stolen from within the car. 

The employee parked her car at the location in the morning before a fellow employee came in to inform her that her window had been smashed. 

The matter remains under investigation.
