No Injuries in Accidents on University Ave, High Street

Police responded to a chain reaction accident and a collision.

On Tuesday, March 29, at around 8:33 a.m., Westwood Police responded to a three-car accident in the area of University Ave and Canton Street.

The incident, a chain-reaction accident, occurred when the operator of a 2004 Chevrolet dropped a GPS unit and struck a 2005 Kia, which in turn struck a 1997 Chevy Blazer. All vehicles were traveling on Canton Street, according to police reports.

No vehicles were towed from the scene, and no injuries were reported.

On Monday, April 4 at around 2:28 p.m., Police responded to the area of High Street and North Street, after a 1997 Mercury and a 2001 Hyundai collided.

The incident took place after the Mercury, which was driving on North Street, attempted to take a left turn in front of the Hyundai, according to police reports.

Due to acceleration on wet pavement, the Mercury started to fishtail, and to avoid striking a telephone pole on the right-hand side of the street, the vehicle over corrected and turned into the eastbound lane, hitting the Hyundai head on.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and the Westwood Fire Department obtained patient refuals, according to police reports.
