Driver Cited in Three-Car Accident

A driver from Medfield was cited for negligent operation after falling asleep at the wheel.

Westwood Police cited a 41-year-old driver from Medfield involved in a three-car accident on High Street last week. 

The incident, which took place on Tuesday, April 5, at around 5:20 p.m., involved a 2004 Toyota, a 2008 Honda and a 2006 Ford. 

All three vehicles were traveling west on High Street, when the Ford failed to stop, hitting the Honda from behind, which in turn hit the Toyota.

The driver of the Ford allegedly fell asleep at the wheel at the time of the incident, and was cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

The road was slick from rainfall at the time, according to police, and traffic was heavy due to rush hour.

No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, and the Honda was towed from the scene.
