Westwood Moms Topic: Explaining Sept. 11

A look at explaining the events of the day to your kids.

Each week, members of our Moms Council of experts and smart moms take your questions, give advice and share solutions.

Moms, dads, grandparents and the diverse families who make up our community will have a new resource for questions about local neighborhood schools, the best pediatricians and the thousands of other issues that arise while raising children.

Sept. 11, 2001. It's not an easy topic, but one that is unavoidable, especially with the impending 10th anniversary.

The Westwood Board of Selectmen announced Monday night the plans to hold a this year. The services will be held at Veteran's Park on High Street.

Because of the violent nature of what took place on Sept. 11 a decade ago, it may be difficult to explain to children who were not around at that time what took place during that day.
