Why Go: Join a family fun day of softball and games to support the Jimmy Fund in memory of Todd Schwartz, who lost his battle with cancer in 2002.

Why Go: It may be a trek, but if you're willing to make the journey, take some time this weekend to cheer on the Wolverines as they compete!

Where/When: , 609 Webster St, Needham Heights; Saturday, June 11: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go: Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Needham, the tour includes six homes featuring such energy saving systems as solar electricity, solar hot water, co-generation of electricity and heat, radiant floor heating, geothermal heating and cooling, weatherization retrofit of an older home, and sustainable yards.
Pricing: Tickets are $7 at the door; people 18 and under are free.

Where/When: Showcase Cinema De Lux Legacy Place 670 Legacy Pl, Dedham; Friday, June 10: Any time. 
Why Go: For movie lovers with big hearts and a few spare hours, volunteers are needed for Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from June 10 to July 28 at participating National Amusements movie theaters in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio. Take some time, after the Jimmy Fund trailer runs during the movie previews, to pass canisters to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
