Today is an early-release day for students in Westwood.

  1. Today is an early-release day for Westwood Public Schools, as it is a professional development day. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:50 a.m., save Deerfield Elementary, which will let out at 11:25 a.m. Thurston Middle School will dismiss at 1:10 p.m. and Westwood High School will release at 12:40 p.m.
  2. The Westwood Permanent Building Committee will meet tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the lower-level conference room at Westwood Town Hall. 
  3. will hold a weekly discussion on faith and scripture tonight at 7:30 p.m. Discussions will be held until 8:35 p.m., to be followed by a series of closing prayers.
  4. There is a slight chance of showers after 4 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. Skies will otherwise be partly sunny, with a high temperature of near 43 degrees.
  5. Gas prices, on average, hovered arond $3.35 per gallon in the Westwood area on Tuesday afternoon, according to AAA's Fuel Price Finder.
