5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 29

A rain-threatening forecast and a babies program are on tap for today's news.

1. Weather: There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. After that there will be a chance of showers between 1 and 4 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Skies will be cloudy with temperatures near 81.
