Community Recycling Event on Sept. 28 - CANCELLED

The event is sponsored by the MBTA and will be held in the Norwood Central Parking Lot.

Need to get rid of some stuff?  On Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the MBTA will be holding a Community Recycling Event at the Norwood Central Parking Lot (inbound side).  

All communities are welcome to come and drop off unwanted goods such as electronics, air conditioners, large plastic toys, lawn mowers, and textiles.  All items will be recycled responsibly with zero landfill impact. 

The cost is $10 a carload with no limit, televisions are $.50 cents per pound and computer monitors are $15 -- everything else is FREE!  

Items That Will Be Taken

Electronics: computers, VCRs, cell phones, keyboards, printers, copiers, faxes, modems, cabling, wire, cords, cameras, videos, scanners, walkmans, ipods, hard drives, stereos, speakers, etc.

(TV’s & monitors extra fee)*

Metal: all types, all kinds, swing sets, fencing, rebar, pots, pans, file cabinets, etc.

Electrical: wires, cables, motors, batteries, power tools, enclosures, panels, light fixtures, etc.

Textiles: clothing, footwear, accesories, linens and stuffed animals

Toys: plastic, metal, electronic

Appliances: washers, dryers, AC units, stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, trash compactors, etc.

Small Appliances: vacuums, irons, blenders, toaster, food processors, lamps, humidifiers, etc.

Yard & Power Equipment: mowers, weed wackers, tillers, chainsaws, etc (please empty fuel & oil) 

Items That Will NOT Be Taken

Wood, glass, hazardous materials, paint, tires, liquids, mattresses, toilets, carpets, upholstered furniture, styrofoam, fluorescent bulbs, or household waste.
