Xaverian Crowned Div. 1 Baseball Champs

The Hawks defeated Algonquin 7-1 on Saturday, June 16, to clinch the 2012 Div. 1 Baseball State Championship.

Hawks Baseball: Xaverian Defeats Taunton for D1 South Title

Monday marked the third year in a row the squad reached the Division 1 South Finals.

The Xaverian Brothers High School varsity baseball team rose victorious from a battle with Taunton in the MIAA Division 1 South Championship, 10-2.  Senior captains Tim Duggan, who in December 2011 signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Fairfield University, and Chris Hoyt, accepted the championship trophy after the game, according to Xaverian's blog.  It was a strong victory for the Hawks, as senior Nick Ahearn kept Taunton to two runs during nine innings, while senior Mike LaVita pulled in two runs on a single in the seventh inning. Baseball: Hawks Topple Over Walpole

Xaverian senior Nick Ahearn pitched all nine innings on Tuesday, leading the Hawks to a 9-3 victory over #2 Walpole in the first round of the MIAA State Tournament. The Hawks visit Silver Lake on Wednesday, June 6 at 4 p.m. in the Division 1 South quarter

Xaverian Students Sign Letter of Intent to Play Football

Ryan Farrell, UNH Class of 2016, is among four Hawks set to play the sport in college this fall.

Another round of hawks are about to soar into the world of college sports.  Ryan Farrell, a Westwood resident and senior at Xaverian Brothers High School, recently signed a National Letters of Intent to play football for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats in the fall, according to a UNH report.  Farrell played a key roll in the Hawks' football program, though he missed most of his senior year due to an injury. Even as far back as 2010, he helped the team with such successes as a 28-0 win over BC High in early November of that year, as well as a rain-soaked battle against Somerville in October 2010 (the Hawks won 26-0).
