Depending on your view, Valentine's Day is either a fantastic holiday to show someone how much you care about them or a Hallmark holiday created to increase card sales. Whatever you think of the holiday, don't dare forget to give something to your loved ones. Last year we asked readers about the best Valentine's gift they ever received . Answers included a hand-cut silhouette and a favorite childhood book. This year we want to know what was the worst gift you ever received. When asked what helps keep a 68-year marriage going strong, Peter Vitale said the answer is simple: Don't stay mad at one another. "When you do have a spiff with your other half, don't stay angry," said Vitale on a recent afternoon in his kitchen with wife Mary by his side. "Make up the same day, the same night, whatever. Because if it continues to the next day, that will continue to the following day, and it'll never be solved. Make up as soon as you can. Do not wait a day. You can be mad for a few hours, but cool off." Vitale knows what he's talking about. The advice is something that's helped keep his marriage happy and thriving for nearly 70 years. It'll be anything but a typical Valentine's Day for Dan Kazachkov and his wife Shauna. The couple, who were married at the gazebo by the Westwood Senior Center on Nov. 11, will not be going out for a romantic evening due to the fact that Shauna is currently serving in South Carolina for the U.S. Navy. But that's not stopping the Norwood couple from celebrating the best way they can - over Skype, a tool Kazachkov said he was reluctant to use at first and has since come to love it.
