The results are in from last week's poll asking residents in Westwood which road or area of town is the worst for speeding drivers. And the winner is . . . "The Maze" - Or, the area of Baker Street, Bonney Street, Church Street, Fisher Street and French Street. Forty-one percent of those who answered the poll said this area was the worst for speeders in Westwood, while 11 percent suggested the East Street Bridge as the worst area. Last week, we asked you to tell us the streets in Westwood where drivers speed most. Several people named names, and it was clear that there are many streets in the town where pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers worry about being hit by a car. This week, we're asking you to vote for the street in Westwood that you think is the most dangerous out the ones suggested by fellow readers. Look for the results of the poll next Tuesday.

We all know there are spots where people tend to speed in Westwood. Tell us in the comments section which are the most dangerous and might need a raised section, another stop sign, more crosswalks or another measure to slow down traffic. Hartford St for sure! It's criminal the speeds people drive on that street, particularly on the stretch from Kingswood to Burgess. Town needs to put up some stop signs on Hartford Street at a couple of intersections to slow folks down. Residents won't mind. Only the out-of-towners cutting through will be frustrated. Good! Additionally, town would benefit from more police speed patrols up and down…   more ›
