The following information was provided by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation: Last night's inclement weather will delay the opening of the fourth travel lane on the stretch of I-95 (Route 128) from Randolph to Westwood by one day. Yesterday, construction crews began to open the remaining portions of the newly constructed fourth travel lane on the section of interstate roadway between Randolph and Westwood. The section originally scheduled to open tomorrow (Wednesday) morning will now open on Thursday AM. The following was submitted by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation: Beginning at 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 3rd and continuing through 12:00 noon on Sunday, November 4th, there will be multiple lane closures on the section of I-95/Route 128 South in the vicinity of East Street (Exit 14) in Westwood to allow work crews to complete roadway reconstruction and paving operations. Appropriate signs, channelizing devices and traffic control measures will be used to guide drivers through the work zone. MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect delays, particularly during the period on Sunday, November 4th between 6:00 AM and 12:00 …

State Police are investigating a Monday afternoon motorcycle crash in Westwood on Route 95 involving Daniel Timmons of Stoughton.

Updated at 9:30 a.m. on August 21: Daniel Timmons, a 39-year-old man from Stoughton, was driving a 2002 Honda motorcycle traveling southbound on Route 95/Route 128 at Route 1 in Westwood when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed off the shoulder of the roadway. The accident occurred at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 20. Timmons was transported by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with what was originally reported as life-threatening injuries. However, in a followup release Tuesday morning, the State Police said it appears Timmons’ injuries are not life-threatening in nature. At the time of the crash investigation, State Police closed the breakdown lane, right, and middle travel lanes for approximately one …

The driver who led police on a chase from Boston to Burlington is in custody.
A 19-year-old Westwood man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly driving a stolen vehicle and being pulled over in South Boston, according to a report on Boston.com. A motorist led police on a high speed chase from Boston to Burlington that ended when the stolen SUV he was driving hit a wall, according to a report on WHDH.com. David Pare, 19, of Westwood, was arrested after fleeing the scene in the vehicle; Massachsuetts state troopers were called to assist in the pursuit, which led down Rte. 128. During the chase, the man reportedly hit at least three police cruisers. Police laid down a spike strip and were able to blow the two front tires, according to WHDH.com.
