Officers Make OUI Arrest, Respond to Sick Squirrel

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information.

Friday, May 17 12:40 a.m.: A motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of Robert O'Connor, 51, from 26 Glenway Street in Dedham. O'Connor was charged with OUI liquor, negligent operation, marked lanes violation, unregistered motor vehicle and speeding.  12:49 p.m.: A resident of Pond Street called police after a resident had concerns that trees being worked on were not on the property of the person working on them.  2:32 p.m.: A caller reported a squirrel acting in a strange manner. Officers notified animal control who handled the matter.  3:01 p.m.: A resident of Sandy Valley Road called police concerned about a computer virus that infected her computer that was displaying inappropriate images.

Stolen MacBook, Assault at Westwood Lodge Hospital

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Thursday, May 16 1:59 p.m.: Officers responded to the Westwood Lodge Hospital in response to a patient on patient assault, which is currently under investigation.  2:35 p.m.: A caller reported a motor vehicle crash on Clapboard Street. The report initially said a pedestrian had been struck but police determined the report to not be substantial.  9:30 p.m.: A resident of Stanford Drive entered the station to file a report of an Apple MacBook being stolen from his parked and unlocked vehicle. The matter is currently under investigation.

Officers Issue Criminal Summons, Investigate Stolen Bicycle

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Tuesday, May 14 7:35 a.m.: A resident of Strasser Avenue came into the station to speak to police about children using airsoft guns in the air. Police responded and filed a report.  3:11 p.m.: Officers received a request from a High Street resident who asked to speak to an Animal Control officer regarding the "72-hour rabies window."    Wednesday, May 15 6:31 a.m.: A motor vehicle stop on Highland Glen road resulted in the criminal summons to a 32-year-old Medford male for unregistered operation and unlicensed operation.  8:23 p.m.: A resident of Hillview Road reported a bicycle had been stolen from his property. The bike was not secured and was stolen sometime the previous day. An investigation is currently in progress.

Man Allegedly Steals Jewelry, Attempts Sale to Westwood Shop

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Monday, May 13 8:25 a.m.: Officer received a report of vandalism to the windshield of construction equipment on East Street. Upon investigating, officers notices a three-foot black pipe that could have been used to do the damage.  11:21 a.m.: Officers issued a summons to a 50-year-old Waltham man for larceny over $250 by a single scheme after the man allegedly tried to sell stolen jewelry to a Westwood shop.  2:01 p.m.: Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash with property damage. One vehicle rear-ended another while it was turning onto Rte. 128. There were no injuries.

Marijuana Seized After Motor Vehicle Stop

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Saturday, May 11 1:32 a.m.: An officer on patrol observed a vehicle leaving a parking lot where a car dealership stores its vehicles. Officers stopped the vehicle and seized a small amount of marijuana arranged for it to be destroyed.  2:22 a.m.: Officers received a report of a verbal dispute between occupants at a home on Washington Street and responded. Upon arriving, officers determined there was no violation of the law.  Sunday, May 12 2:01 p.m.: A business owner on Providence Highway came into the station to report ongoing harassment. The matter stemmed from an issue in another town so officers advised the person to follow up with that town's Police Department.

Westwood Police Search for Missing Person

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Friday, May 10 12:51 a.m.: Officers received a report of minor vehicle damage to a vehcile at Westwood High School, later reporting that marks on the passenger side door could have been made with a key.  2:33 p.m.: Police received a request for a serch for a missing person. Offcers located the person 10 minutes later and reported she had an altered mental status.  9:39 p.m.: After a motor vehicle stop, officers arrested Ernesto Fabio, 27, from 252 Washington Street in Norwood for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Officers Respond to Motor Vehicle Crash, Unregistered Vehicle

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Thursday, May 9 12:47 a.m.: An officer on patrol came across a parked vehicle at the Westwood Budget Inn with a revoked registration. The officer removed the license plates form the vehicle to deter it from going onto the public way.  2:35 p.m.: Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash with property damage. A 2004 Ford took a right onto Colburn Street and crashed into a 2005 Honda. There were no injuries. The driver of the Ford received a written warning for stop sign violation.  3:23 p.m.: Officers received a report of a sick or rabid fox on Sycamore Drive. The animal was gone when police arrived.

Police Respond to Motor Vehicle Crash, Deer in Distress

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Tuesday, May 7 12:10 p.m.: Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Providence Highway in a parking lot. A 2008 Volvo was backing out of a parking space when it collided with a 2009 Audi.  Wednesday, May 8 4:04 p.m.: Officers served a harassment restraining order to a Greenacre Road resident.  6:06 p.m.: A caller reported a deer in distress on Lorrine Road. Officers dispatched the deer and removed it from the roadway.

Police Respond to Multiple Reports of Larceny

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Monday, May 6 8:04 a.m.: A business on Wilson Way reported their picnic table was stolen after thieves cut through a padlock and thick cable.  8:48 a.m.: A resident of Smith Drive entered the station to report a license plate had been taken from his car.  1:39 p.m.: Officers acted on a warrant of apprehension for a Westwood resident and took him into custody. The person was brought before a local court to be evaluated by psychologists.  6:50 p.m.: A Tamerack Road resident report four footballs missing from the front yard of his residence.

Officers Make OUI Arrest, Dispatch Possibly Rabid Fox

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Saturday, May 4 11:12 a.m.: A resident of Burgess Avenue filed a report of credit fraud after noticing nine unauthorized charges that were made to her credit card in Tennessee and Mississippi.  3:01 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a fox walking in the road and acting "crazy." Officers feared the animal was rabid and dispatched it using a service pistol. Sunday, May 5 1:02 p.m.: A motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of Andy Beepath, 35, from 51 Arborfield Road in Roslindale. Officers charged Beepath with OUI liquor and marked lanes violation.
