Westwood Police Make OUI Arrest

The following information was provided by the Westwood Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

On Tuesday, October 30, at 1:16 a.m., a Westwood police officer was doing a routine radar enforcement on East St. when he observed a plate light not working on a passing motor vehicle. The officer pulled the vehicle over and allegedly noticed that the driver had been drinking. Richard Harding, 35 of Norwood, was placed under arrest and charged with OUI-liquor and for having a defective plate light.

Westwood Man Arrested After Hitting Car on Oak Street Jan. 11, 7:18 p.m. - A Westwood man was arrested last week after he hit a car on Oak Street while driving drunk. A Pond Street resident was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. The resident was arrested after he struck a 2007 Mitsubishi with his 2006 Ford on Oak Street. The Mitsubishi had been backing into a driveway at the time of the accident. The Ford was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. South Boston Man Arrested for OUI Jan. 14, 11:34 p.m. - A South Boston resident was arrested after running a red light on Washington Street and hitting a 2012 Mercedes while driving drunk. Police Log: Car Vandalized, Norwood Man Arrested for DUI

One Scratched Hummer Dec. 26, 4:33 p.m. - An Arcadia Road resident reported to police that someone had scratched the side of his Hummer through the paint down to the metal. The incident appeared to have happened sometime overnight on Christmas into the following day. Drunk Driving on Rte. 1 Dec. 30, 11:45 p.m. - Westwood Police arrested a Norwood man on Friday for driving drunk on Providence Highway near Glacier Drive. Robert Ferris, 28, of 401 Buckminster Dr. in Norwood, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation and speeding, police said. Police stopped Ferris on Providence Highway after determining that his car had been traveling at a high rate of speed.

Dedham Man Arrested for Driving Drunk on East Street

Westwood Police arrested a Dedham man on Saturday for an alleged second OUI offense on East Street.  Joseph Thissell, 42, of 40 Tarbox St. in Dedham, was charged with a second offense of operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor, as well as negligent operation of a motor vehicle so as to endanger and a marked lanes violation.  Thissell was arrested after police responded to the East Street rotary, where police and Emergency Medical Service officials were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident.  The incident took place on Saturday, Dec. 4 at around 7:40 p.m.

Hanson Man Arrested on Drug Charges

The following information was supplied by the Westwood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Westwood Police arrested a Hanson man last week for driving under the influence of drugs.   Kenneth Suchecki, 34, of 85 Union St. in Hanson, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 21 around 10:23 p.m. in the parking lot of the Westwood Mobil gas station on High Street.  An employee of the gas station called police to report that someone had passed out in a Saturn that was parked in handicap space in the lot.  Upon arrival, police found Suchecki slumped over in the driver's side of the vehicle with scratch tickets in his right hand. When he awoke, the suspect was disoriented, police said, and it was believed that he was under the influence of an opiate.  Suchecki then failed a sobriety test and was placed under arrest before being taken to Dedham …

Westwood Police Log: Two Arrested for Warrant, OUI

Westwood Man Arrested on Warrant Sept. 20, 1:48 p.m. - Westwood Police arrested a Providence Highway resident on a default warrant issued out of Dedham District Court. Jacob Myers, 19, of 151 Providence Hwy, was arrested on the warrant, which was issued to Myers for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, police said. Millis Man Arrested for Drunk Driving Sept. 25, 12:47 a.m. - Police arrested a Millis man on High Street for driving while intoxicated. Jeffrey Martin, 35, of 203 Farm St. in Millis was arrested after police pulled the blue Toyota SUV he was driving on High Street for speeding. After speaking with him, police determined that Martin was drunk and administered  a field sobriety test, which Martin subsequently failed. …
