Stretch Code Dropped From 2011 Warrant Articles
Originally planned to go before Town Meeting, the adoption of a Stretch Energy Code was dropped from the 2011 Warrant Articles Tuesday night.
Despite several months of discussion on how adopting a Stretch Energy Code could bring environmental and financial benefits for the Town of Westwood, the matter will not be presented as a warrant article at Town Meeting on May 2, as was originally planned. The notion of adopting the Stretch Code - a component of the Massachusetts Building Energy code - has been ongoing for months, from an information session held in October, to a recent presentation of the what the code entails at a Westwood Finance Commission Public Hearing. But in the end, it was decided that the best move would be to hold the matter for discussion this time next year.
