Students in Westwood High's Culinary Arts Club met to receive a cooking lesson from a local chef.
Derek Yanoff, a Freshman at Westwood High School started the Culinary Arts Club in November to help his fellow students learn to cook. Thursday brought Steve LaCount, the Executive Chef at Chiara, to Westwood High to help the club learn to make an Italian staple: gnocchi.
A cooking demonstration next Thursday will help benefit the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Eating for charity sounds like the best combination. On Thursday night, you can indulge in concoctions from some of the area’s top chefs at a fundraiser for breast cancer research and awareness. Chefs for the Cure will be held at The Viking Center, and proceeds will benefit the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The event will feature food tastings from BOKX 109 American Prime Restaurant, Myers+Chang, Union Bar & Grille, Finale, Taranta, and several others.
