Corrections Officer Indicted for Stealing Thousands of Dollars From Vending Machines

Bay State Correctional Center employee has been indicted on breaking and entering and larceny charges in connection with more than $8,000 he allegedly stole from vending machines in Dedham.

  Donald Packard, 36, employee of The Department of Correction, was indicted today by Norfolk County Grand Jury on the charges of Breaking and Entering into a Depository of Money (7 counts) and Larceny over $250. Authorities allege that between Sept. 2011 and July 2012 Packard stole money from various vending machines in the Norwood, Westwood, and Dedham areas. The investigation revealed that Packard targeted vending machines made by the company he use to work for.  Authorities allege that he kept the key after he was no longer employed and used it to steal more than $8,000 from the vending machines. According to The Department of the Attorney General, Packard is due for arraignment on Oct. 19 in Norfolk Superior Court.

Former Westwood Resident Due in Court July 19 for Partners Healthcare Theft

Carol Peterson and her husband are facing charges of stealing roughly $500,000 from Partners Healthcare.

Former Westwood resident Carol Peterson and her husband Robert will appear in court next week stemming from charges that they stole about $500,000 from Partners Healthcare last year. The couple will be appearing in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham on Tuesday, July 19, and is accused of submitting false invoices to Partners, of which Carol Peterson was formerly employed. Carol Peterson, 59, was indicted late last year by a Norfolk County Grand Jury, which charged her with two counts of $250 by scheme, two counts of false entries in corporate books, and conspiracy. Robert Peterson was indicted on charges of larceny over $250 by scheme, and conspiracy. The invoices were allegedly submitted to Partners from three companies the couple created. …
