Police Trace Stolen Credit Card, Make Arrest

The Westwood Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests.

Tuesday, April 2 10:56 a.m.: A Washington Street resident reported his credit card was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. Officers arrested Leramie Croft, 29, from 7 Hamlet Street in Dorchester after tracing the usage of the credit card to a nearby business.  Police charged Croft with identity fraud and receiving stolen property. Officers could not prove Croft entered the car and stole the credit card.  Wednesday, April 3 1:49 p.m.: Officers received a report of a motor vehicle crash on High Street. Police say a vehicle struck a deer which caused no injuries to the driver. Police Log: Assault and Battery Arrest, Car Crash

The following information was requested by Patch and provided by the Westwood Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Jan. 6 12:55 a.m.: Officers issued a criminal summons to a 47-year-old from Jamaica Plain for driving with a suspended registration.  3:34 p.m.: A driver was transported to Norwood hospital after a motor vehicle accident. The vehicle was in the left hand lane traveling southbound on Providence Highway when the vehicle struck a granite curb causing a blowout. The vehicle lost control and struck a guard rail. 4:06 p.m.: Officers arrested Michelle Ruggero, 23, from 145 Blue Hill drive in Westwood on a warrant for assault and battery.

Two Westwood Workers Arrested After Suspected Larceny

Officers noticed a suspected thief's co-worker had active warrants for her arrest.

Officers from the Westwood Police Department arrested two workers at Dunkin Donuts on Dec. 5 after an employee there was suspected of stealing from the business. Jessie Peloquin, 22, from 102 Green Acre Rd. in Westwood was arrested and charged with larceny over $250. While investigating the larceny charges, officers noticed that Peloquin's co-worker, Melissa Sharrow, had an active warrant from the Attleboro District Court for failure to appear to court for receiving stolen property and larceny over $250 and arrested her.  Sharrow's charges have no affiliation to Peloquin's

Wednesday, November 28 Stolen Lottery Tickets (5:34 p.m.) - The attendant at the Shell gas station on Providence Hwy. reported that someone may have taken Powerball tickets when another customer had placed them on the counter while counting change. The surveillance video is being reviewed by police. Thursday, November 29 Motor Vehicle Stop (1:27 a.m.) - An officer stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Providence Hwy. and Carroll Ave. and issued a summons to the driver for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with an expired registration and not having a physical license. Monday, November 26 I Called a Worker? (7:47 a.m.) - A Cardinal Dr. resident called the police to report that someone was banging on the door. An officer was dispatched and when he arrived he found that the knocker was pest control, who was there to do a job. Arrest (5:14 p.m.) - Police arrested Robert Dion, 55, of Westwood on a probation warrant out of Stoughton District Court. Obstacle Course (9:35 p.m.) - A caller from the area of Blue Hill Dr. and Canton St. reported that someone had set up an obstacle course out of construction materials and barrels. Westwood Police Log: Mother-in-Law Problems

Thursday, November 22 Unlicensed (1:14 a.m.) - A motor vehicle stop at Providence Hwy. and Southwest Park ended with a criminal summons for a 21-year-old from Norwood for driving with a suspended license. The passenger in the vehicle had a valid license, so he was allowed to drive the car away. One Light Lit (10:52 p.m.) - A Carroll Ave. resident called to report that a vehicle with just one headlight on was driving very slowly down the street. Westwood Police Log: Walking in a Suit

Tuesday, November 13 Picture Taker (3:17 p.m.) - A Hooper St. resident reported that a person in a car was taking pictures of houses. An officer was sent to the scene, but the person was gone upon arrival. The caller did manage to get a license plate, though. Arrest (3:49 p.m.) - Police arrested Isaac Jacobson, 23, of Westwood on an outstanding warrant out of Dedham District Court for Operating a Motor Vehicle after Suspension. Wearing a Suit While Walking (5:41 p.m.) - A resident of Alder Rd. called police to report a suspicious person. The caller stated that the person was walking down the street wearing a suit. They may have been a solicitor. An officer was dispatched, but the man in the suit was nowhere to be found.

Westwood Police Log: OUI Arrest

The following information was provided by the Westwood Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, October 13 Arrest (1:00 a.m.) - Officers were dispatched to a one-car motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Clapboardtree St. and Meadowbrook Rd. Upon arrival, the officer observed that the driver appeared to be intoxicated. After failing to pass field sobriety tests, Aleksander Schwenzer, 33, of Westwood was placed under arrest and charged with OUI-liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and speeding.

Westwood Police ID Bank Robbery Suspect

The suspect in the Saturday morning robbery of Citizens Bank in Union Square, Somerville, was arrested early Tuesday morning at a Red Roof Inn in Salem, NH.

Michael Tucker, 45, the suspect in a Somerville bank robbery last weekend, was identified from the bank surveillance photo by Westwood Police, who had knowledge of him from an unrelated investigation. Tucker is the suspect in the Saturday morning robbery of Citizens Bank in Union Square, Somerville. He was arrested early Tuesday morning at a Red Roof Inn in Salem, NH, Somerville Police said. He was located at the hotel overnight and agents from the FBI, Violent Crimes Task Force, U.S. Marshals Service, Somerville Police and Salem Police converged on the hotel. Tucker was arrested on the charge of a federal parole violation warrant and will also be charged with the Somerville Citizens Bank robbery, police said. The robbery happened at the …

Westwood Police Department: OUI Arrest

The following information was provided by the Westwood Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

On Saturday, October 6, a Westwood police officer observed a motor vehicle driving without its headlights on just before 1 a.m. near the intersection of High St. and Mayfair Dr. The officer stopped the vehicle and saw signs of alcohol use by the driver, so she was asked to perform a couple of field sobriety tests, which she was not able to successfully complete. Catherine Halsey, 46, was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor and a Motor Vehicle Lights violation.
