Morrison Park Revitalized!

WLL is a chartered member of Little League Baseball, Incorporated. For the past few years, WLL has been involved in an extensive effort to bring about significant improvements to Morrison Park.

In just two weeks,  Westwood will celebrate completion of Phase I of the revitalization of Morrison Park!   Through a public/private partnership with Westwood Little League, the center of Islington will soon sport:

  •  a new regulation Little League field
  •  improvements to the softball field and
  •  a brand new, state of art lighted tennis court

The process of bringing these improvements involved thousands of hours of volunteer time, generous leadership donors, grassroots support throughout the community, donations from local businesses and close coordination among many people.

Work on Phase II will begin this August after the baseball season and will include a scorers' booth, restrooms (to allow permanent removal of the portable facility at the Park), a new concession stand and a new, dedicated entrance to the park.   The result of all this work will be improved playing opportunities for youth athletes and community residents  -- and  enhanced green space surrounded by carefully designed and constructed structures.
