Saturday and Sunday Lane Closures on Rte. 128/I-93 Corridor

Closures will impact travel between Ponkapoag Trail in Milton and Rte. 1 in Dedham, Westwood this weekend.

There will be various lane closures on the I-95 (Rte. 128) and I-93 corridor between Ponkapoag Trail i Milton and Rte. 1 in Dedham/Westwood on Saturday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 17. These closures will begin at 7 a.m. and continue through 3:30 p.m. to allow work crews to complete pavement marking and other roadway operations as part of ongoing construction.

The construction is part of the $53.7 million project to widen a 5.5 mile section of Rte. I-93/Rte. I-95/ Rte. 128 between Randolph and Westwood to provide an additional travel lane in each direction.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Lane closures will occur in the following areas:

On Saturday, Nov. 16, a single left lane closure on the section I-93 North from Route 138 (Exits 2 A/B) in Canton to Ponkapoag Trail (Exit 3) in Milton between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, rolling right lane closures on the section of I-95 (Rte. 128) North from I-93 (Exit 12) in Canton to Rte. 1 (Exits 15 A/B) in Dedham/Westwood between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The ramps along this segment will be consecutively closed for durations of approximately 15 minutes each as the pavement marking operations progress through the area.

On Sunday, Nov. 17, rolling left lane closures on the section of I-95 (Route 128) South from Rte, 1 (Exits 15 A/B) in Dedham/Westwood to I-93 (Exit 12) in Canton between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

MassDOT is encouraging drivers to seek alternate routes during this time. Those who must travel through the area should expect delays, as well as reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling near or through the work zones or the along the ramp detour routes.
