Westwood Food Pantry Receives Grant of $1K

The donation comes from the Foundation for MetroWest.

The Foundation for MetroWestwood announced Friday that it has awarded the a $1,000 for the Westwood Food Pantry.

The grant is a portion of $55,000 awarded to food pantries throughout the region from the foundation's English Family Fund and Herbert and Esther Atkinson Fund, according to a statement on Friday.

"Food pantries and service organizations from around Massachusetts continue to face unprecedented challenges," Judith Salerno, Executive Director of The Foundation for MetroWest, said in the statement. "The MetroWest region is no different, and we are proud that we have been able to support the Westwood Council on Aging as they work to fulfill the growing number of requests by families to help put a balanced meal on their tables."
