'Tis the season for giving, but not just gifts! 

Residents in Westwood can take the opportunity this time of year lend a hand at a number of local venues, both in and out of town.

So, if you're looking to give back a bit with some work this year, here are some places to check out:

  1. Struggling families in town are always grateful to have an extra bit of food, especially during the winter months. By donating and helping out at the Westwood Food Pantry, you'd be doing a great service to your fellow residents this season.
  2. Westwood Senior Center -Volunteers fill a variety of positions at the Senior Center in town, helping to lead groups, provide office support, offer hospitality, transport elders and undertake special projects. To find out more about how you can help, call at 781-329-8799.
  3. Open from Labor Day until mid-June, this local thrift shop is always welcoming f volunteers. All proceeds from sales at the shop benefit the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
