Winter Fun in Westwood

A few favorite winter activities and where to do them!

I wanted to write about a few of our favorite winter activites in Westwood.

One of our all time favorites is ice skating! My daughter Elizabeth competes in figure skating, so of course my son Frankie enjoys skating too.

We have been skating on weekends at the Bajko rink in Hyde Park, which has free ice skating on Saturdays and Sundays from 2-4 p.m. We also enjoy skating outside at the rink at Larz Anderson park in Brookline.

We are not skiiers, so last winter we tried snow shoeing, and it was really fun and easy too!

We went to the Gore Place in Waltham, where it is $5 to rent each pair of snow shoes. We walked around the beautiful grounds for about 45 minutes and then returned to the house for hot chocolate. I can't wait until we have enough snow to go again this year, hoepfully over February break. I saw that is also having snow shoe hikes.

For indoor winter fun, our favorites are the Museum of Science and Skyzone trampoline park in Hyde Park - fun activities that both kids enjoy.

The kids recieved snow tubes for Christmas this year, and we are looking for suggestions for the best places to go sledding and tubing. Any thoughts? Let me know in the comments section.

Thanks!!
