Happy Valentine's Day!

For Valentine's Day this year, John and I went to The Sherborn Inn for dinner on Sunday. I was eagerly anticipating it a few weeks before!  

The menu looked so good and there was going to be live piano music; plus I had heard great reviews from friends.

The evening did not disappoint. The food, music, atmosphere and warm fireplaces were perfect for Valentine's Day!  

For our appetizer, we both chose the oysters baked with shrimp and mushrooms in a creamy Parmesan sauce. A champagne toast was included, followed by salad. For my entree, I enjoyed the butter pumpkin risotto, and John got the lobster stuffed beef tenderloin. They were both very good.  

Live piano music was playing in the background and the warm fires were so inviting on a cold night. The chocolate fountain had fruit and marshmallows for dipping, and it was delicious! Such a nice night to linger and just have time to talk, uninterrupted.

Valentine's Day itself will be more centered on the kids, with heart-shaped meatloaf, cupcakes, cookies, special candy and books. I love that too, and celebrating with them, but it was nice a have a grown up night out.
