Wolverines Tie Medfield in Wednesday Hockey Battle

The girls ice hockey teams tied 0-0 on Wednesday.

The Westwood Wolverines and Medfield played to a 0-0 tie in an exciting varsity girls ice hockey game on Wednesday in Canton.

Westwood (3-0-1), skating three lines, put pressure on Medfield (4-1-1) all game and ended with 42 shots on the net. A tremendous goaltending effort by Medfield's Mimi Borkan shut down a Westwood offense that had averaged nine goals a game. 

Westwood goaltender Courtney Fay stopped 12 shots to keep Medfield off the scoreboard.

Westwood's red line: Ella Hazar, Kim Egizi and Kelly Healey spent most of the  game in the Medfield zone and piled up 20 shots on net, including two point blank shots in the final minute.
