The real difference in this game was Westwood Senior Goalie Chris Treon who made 27 saves en route to the shutout against the bigger Norwood team.

"Our goalie was phenomenal," said Welby.

Treon stopped two Mustang shots in the first four minutes at point blank range and later made an acrobatic save in the second period on a backhander by Norwood junior forward Connor Mahon.

The Wolverines opened up the third with their first power play goal of the game coming off a wrist shot from left wing Kevin Gavin on the assist of Brett Egizi.

The goal of the night came off the stick of defenseman Jimmy Curtin who added a blazing slapshot at the 8:10 mark of the third that beat Norwood goalie Jordan Davis on the top left corner for the 2-0 Wolverine lead.

Two additional goals in the final two minutes on rebounds concluded the scoring for Westwood who moves to 4-0-1 while Norwood falls to 3-2-1.

Coach Folan said the Mustangs' defeat in the final period was due to the lack of scoring versus the Wolverines.

"We just didn't finish offensively," said Folan.
