Girls Hockey Squad Beats Quincy, 7-0

The Wolverines advanced to 11-3-1 for the season with the win.

Editor's Note: The following was submitted by Westwood High School girls varsity ice hockey coach Rick Chrusciel.

Westwood overpowered Quincy/North Quincy on Wednesday, 7-0, putting 45 shots on net and holding QNQ to only two.

Kelly Healey opened the scoring for Westwood early in the first period, being sent in alone off passes from Ela Hazar and Kim Egizi. Hazar quickly made it 2-0 off a feed from Egizi. Olivia Fay then scored off a nice setup by Meghan Kelly to finish the first period at 3-0.

Maddy McKeown then scored her first varsity goal to make it 4-0 early in the second period. Healey made it 5-0 off a setup by Hazar and Egizi to end the second period.

Freshman Kiley Ward replaced Siobhan Burke in the Westwood nets for the third period.

Freshman Waverley Jackson continued the onslaught scored her first varsity goal to start the third period, off a centering pass from freshman Taylor Sweeney.  Katie Horsfall made 7-0 on a beautiful rink length rush.

Westwood skated four forward lines for the game, with everyone getting into the game. Westwood "red" line of Kelly Healey, Ela Hazar and Kim Egizi accounted for 4 goals and 7 assists.

With the win, Westwood improved to 11-3-1 on the season.
