WEEI Supports 6th Annual PMC Kids Rides in Westwood

Children between the ages the 3 and 16 have a choice of three different routes through the neighbors of Westwood. This year the 2012 PMC Kids Ride in Westwood will be dedicated to 7-year old Alexa Kelly who will finally be completing a long two year battle with leukemia. Alexa will be participating in the ride on her special one-mile route, “Alexa’s Awesome Obstacle Course.”  For older kids feeling energetic and enthusiastic, there are six and twelve-mile paved routes through the town. WEEI will support the PMC Kids Ride in Westwood, this Sunday, June 10th from 9:00am- 11:30am to help raise funds for the Jimmy Fund.

PMC Kids Rides give children the opportunity to experience the joy of volunteerism and charitable giving through physical fitness and community spirit. These rides enable children between the ages of 3 and 16 to ride their bikes and solicit sponsors to donate money to cancer research. Money raised through the event goes to the Pan Mass Challenge/Jimmy Fund, the most successful athletic fundraiser in the nation. Kids also have the option to raise funds in the name of a relative or friend fighting cancer or to dedicate their ride to a special person. The PMC Kids Rides program offers children, parents, and neighbors an opportunity to work together to create individual bike-a-thons in neighborhoods, at schools, or in business complexes.
