“It is fun to see thecompetitive spirit come out among families” said Doug Stebbins, the event founder and organizer. “It is a fun event that allows the kids and parents to compare scores, and often it’s the kids that score better”.

There are also some pretty good shooters out there, with the record of 60 straight free throws set aback in 2009. With the help of event sponsor Consensus Advisors, there will be champions and trophies for 10 different age groups for both boys and girls.

The format allows participants to show up any time during the event to take their shots, they will be notified if their score is a winner.

Stebbins said, “You can be in and out in a few minutes, or you can stay all day and try to improve your score."

For the first time, this year will also include a Knock-Out Competition, which will add extra excitement to the event. As with other years, all proceeds will benefit the Westwood Community Chest.

Stebbins said, “The Westwood Community Chest is a great organization that does so much for Westwoodresidents in need during this tough economic time.”
