Westwood Celebrates Inclusive Schools Week

Students and teachers took part in a handful of activities to acknowledge and thank teachers and administrators for their continuous efforts.

This week, Westwood Public Schools celebrated Inclusive Schools Week, and event celebrated throughout the country as a way to notice and thank teachers, students, staff, administrators and parents who work together in the school system to keep it same and welcoming. 

Several of the activities took place during the event and across the town's schools, according to Abigail Hanscom, Director of Student Services for Westwood Schools. At the elementary level, students took part in whole-school book readings, while students engaged in an essay contest. students, meanwhile, took part in a series of open houses. 

Westwood's Student Services Department and the Westwood Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) collaborated to offer a morning coffee break at the schools to thank teachers and staff for their work.
