Thurston Parents Invited to Meet Assist. Principal Finalists

Thurston is holding open meet-and-greets with three candidates this week.

Parents of students at in Westwood will have a chance to meet with candidates for a new assistant principal. 

School officials have been interviewing candidates to fill the role, and have landed on three finalists, who will be available to meet with parents on three separate days this week from 10-10:45 a.m. in the Thurston cafeteria annex, according to a recent letter from Principal Allison Borchers to parents.

Keith Turner, a sixth grade math and science teacher from Remington Middle School in Franklin, was available Monday morning to speak with parents.

On Tuesday, parents will have the chance to meet Robert Lyons, an eighth grade history teacher at the Coakley Middle School in Norwood since 2006.

And on Wednesday, Zachary Best, an assistant principal at Northwest Middle School in Knox County, Tennessee since 2010, will be on hand Wednesday.

In a similar light, Westwood High School recently announced that it has filled the same role, as  there, effective July 1.
