Question of the Day Topic: MCAS Performance

Westwood has scored well on MCAS, but improvements still needed.

School administrators said this week that the Westwood School District is , as well as the No Child Left Behind Act, but improvements district-wide are still needed.

Scores on the MCAS exams have reached well above 90 percent, and  the goal of No Child Left Behind is to have universal proficiency by 2014.

And while Westwood made its Adequate Yearly Progress - which looks at whether the performance of a school’s students in total and individual student groups is improving - for 2011 officials said there are some areas that did not make AYP.
