Overheating Equipment Causes Evacuation at Westwood High School

Students cleared the building for a brief period Monday morning after a piece of equipment overheated.

Monday morning brought with it an abnormal start to the week for students at Westwood High School.

Students were briefly evacuated after a fire alarm at the school went off. The Westwood Fire Department arrived on the scene at 8:17 a.m. after a piece of equipment in the administrative offices overheated, according to reports.

The Fire Department cleared the area at 8:27 a.m., as the incident was minor, Westwood Police said.

The evacuation was orderly and students were allowed back into the building shortly after the area was cleared.
