How Many Westwood Graduates Attend College?

Next month, many recent high school graduates will be heading off for their freshmen year of college. So how does compare to other communities in terms of graduates attending institutions of higher education?

According to the latest figures available on the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) website, which are from the 2009-2010 school year, Westwood has 91 percent of its graduates attending college.

Additionally, nearly 75 percent of Westwood students enroll at a private four-year college, while 21.6 percent of students enroll at a public four-year college.

Of communities in the region, Dedham has 70.3 percent of its students attending college, with 46.3 percent of them having attended private four-year colleges. 

Westwood's immediate neighbors include Norwood (77 percent attending college), Dover-Sherborn Regional High School (81 percent), Wapole (85.8 percent) and Medfield (88.6 percent).
