Westwood Public Schools - Preschool Screening

Massachusetts Special Education Law states that each school district shall conduct screenings for three and four year olds. This screening is designed to review a child's development and to assist in identification of those children who should be referred for an evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services.  Participation in the screening is optional.

In accordance with the law, the Westwood Public Schools will conduct screenings of children throughout the school year.  The following are the screening dates for the 2011-2012 school year.  Please call Sharon Gearty, Preschool Administrative Assistant at 781-326-7500, ext. 5113 or email your name, phone number and address to sgearty@westwood.k12.ma.us to request the registration packet and schedule an appointment for your child.

Screening Dates- 

February 1, 2012, 9am-12 noon — Please register as soon as possible.

April 4, 2012, 9am-12 noon — Please register one month in advance.
