Babson President to Speak at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Dover

Babson College President Leonard Schlesinger will be the first speaker in a Lenten series on Faith in the Workplace to be held at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Dover.

The evening series of five speakers will focus on balancing spiritual life and its covenants with the demands and decisions that face us every day at work.

Schlesinger, who is Jewish, will offer his thoughts based on years working in the corporate arena, and in education as a professor and now as a college president, and how his experiences have impacted his faith journey.

St. Dunstan’s rector, The Reverend Mark C. McKone-Sweet invites the public to participate in the series of events.  

“We are pleased to host this diverse group of professionals for our Lenten speaker series,” said Reverend McKone-Sweet in a statement. “My hope is that our speakers provoke healthy discussion by sharing personal experiences of negotiating the boundaries of our work life and religious identities.

“In the press today, politicians are scrutinized for how their religious identities and faith practices will or will not influence their leadership decisions,” McKone-Sweet added. “We hope this series will validate what binds us together as people of many faiths. It is, indeed, an unspoken truth that is far greater and richer than our differences.”

Schedule:

• February 28 (Tues): Leonard A. Schlesinger, President, Babson College; former CEO, The Limited
• March 6 (Tues): James Wagner, Esq. Partner CKR P&F
• March 13(Tues):  The Rev. John Finley, Head of School for the Epiphany School, Dorchester
• March 20(Tues):  Dr. David Urion, Neurologist, Children’s Hospital Boston and faculty at Harvard Medical School
• March 27 (Wed):  Betsey Komjathy, Public Speaking Consultant and Coach.

Speakers will present for 20-30 minutes starting at 7:15 followed by discussion and Q & A. For those who wish to come early, soup and bread will be offered from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
