Westwood DPW Activity: May 21-25

A rundown of all the updates and impacting work coming from the Westwood DPW this week.

 

In addition to DPW normal activities you may see the following work the week of
May 21st, 2012:

  • The Town sweeper will be touching up main drags throughout the week.
  • Maintenance crews will be out mowing and maintaining town owned property as well as prep work in anticipation of Memorial Day.
  • Crews will be out spring cleaning all town owned properties and Municipal Buildings
    Fields and Grounds crews will be out mowing and maintaining all athletic fields and
    preparing them each day for all afterschool programs.
  • The Highway Department will be coordinating with the Sewer Department to prep
    and poor a concrete pad at the Clapboardtree pumping station for a generator.
  • Catch basin repairs will take place over the next few weeks at the corner of Baker and Fisher Street, and at the corner of Spellman, University Ave and Forbes Road.
  • Mulch will be applied to all traffic islands, municipal buildings, and the cemeteries
    and will be completed by Friday May 25th (Weather Permitting).
  • The street light contractor will continue working to replace street lights that are out.
  • If you get a chance to drive through the cemeteries, please do. A lot of work has gone into making them beautiful. Veteran’s markers and foundations for stone deliveries will be installed this week in the Cemetery.
