  • Last week, crews completed adjusting the top of the catch basins on Clapboardtree Street for smother travel. Crews will be performing the same work on the catch basin on Nahatan Street across from the High School as weather continues to permit.
  • The DPW will continue to revisit tree removal locations to deal with the remaining stumps and clearing broken limbs along main streets.
  • Due to the favorable weather conditions this year, the DPW will be repairing pot holes in the streets using hot asphalt mix.
  • Crews will be keeping the streets open with treatment and plowing as needed for snow and ice.

The Westwood DPW has also issued the following reminders for residents during the winter months:

  • There is no parking allowed on any street between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. of any day during the period of Dec. 1, 2011 though March 31, 2012.
  • Remove all portable basketball and sports apparatuses off streets.
  • Put markers along property lines to assist the DPW in preventing lawn damage during the winter months.
  • If using a private contractor for removing snow on property during the winter, please ensure that they do not deposit the snow in the public way.
  • Remember to check the Town of Westwood website for any snow updates throughout the winter.
