Selectmen Congratulate Westwood Lacrosse Champions

The Board commended the team for their efforts this past season.

After an exciting , the Westwood high School vasrstiy girls lacrosse team ventured to Westwood Town Hall on Monday, filling the Selectmen's Meeting Room. 

There, the Westwood Board of Selectmen took some time to congratulate the players for not only a strong victory, but also achieving an impressive season record of 25-0-1.

The majority of the team was present Monday night, along with Head Coach Leslie Frank.

Selectmen Chair Pat Ahearn acknowledged the girls' accomplishments over the years; the team has achieved five state titles in eight years. And for their efforts, the Selectmen granted each player with a Westwood-themed book bag and pen.

"Coach Frank, I think you're the new wizard of Wetwood with the job you've done here," said Ahearn.

Selectmen Clerk Nancy Hyde reiterated Ahearn's comments, and noted the team's continuous accomplishements over the years, both on and off the field.

"You're true leaders, academically strong, and unbelievable athletes," she said. "Welcome back."
