Save the Date: Fall Town Meeting will be Nov. 18

Westwood’s fall town meeting date has been set for Nov. 18. 

The Board of Selectmen set the date and opened the warrant at its July 22 meeting at which they also set the following tentative timeline:

• Aug. 26 – Closing Warrant (extended to Sept. 9, if need be)
• Oct. 8 – Meeting on the warrant articles
• Oct. 23 – First public hearing on the articles
• Nov. 18 -- Fall town meeting 

The town's revised charter, that passed in May 2012, allows for an annual fall town meeting, however, if there were less than 10 articles to be heard, the selectmen could declare town meeting cancelled as it was last year.  

Town officials say they already know they have enough business to call for the fall town meeting.
