New Library Nearly 70 Percent Complete

The exterior of the building is close to how the finished product will appear.

Construction of the New Westwood Public Library is in its home stretch.

As of March 30, the building reached a completion mark of 69 percent, according to a blog update by Westwood Library Director Tom Viti

The majority of construction has moved inside the building, and progress continues on exterior glass, masonry and roof work. The exterior of the building, moreover, is closer to its finished appearance, according to the update.

Staff at the library also were able to take an initial tour of the building early last month, according to the update, and noted significant progress in terms of how well certain rooms and offices are defined.

No officials dates have been set yet as to when the current library will close, Viti told Westwood Patch this week, but that notifications will be provided accordingly.
