Westwood Chooses Gomez over Markey, Bucking State Results

The majority of Westwood voters did not reflect the state results in selecting Edward Markey as U.S. Senator Tuesday. Candidate Gabriel Gomez won the town's vote.

The majority of Westwood voters selected Gabriel Gomez, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, in the special state election Tuesday. 

electing him to the Senate seat relinquished by John Kerry, now the Secretary of State.

In Westwood, the unofficial vote Tuesday was 2,210 for Gomez, and 1,794 for Markey.
